Mindfulness Based
Calm Living
Mindfulness Based Calm Living (MBCL) is a way of living where we are not overwhelmed by the pressures of life but do not feel the need to escape them. By learning techniques to better cope with what life throws at us we are able to maintain an inner balance which enables us to deal with both the everyday pressures as well as the larger and unexpected ones which come our way.
Many people start the practice of MBCL when they feel the increase in pressure or realise that they are completely overwhelmed, but to have these practices in place before we get to that point is helpful not only in often preventing us getting to a point of overwhelm, but also to know how to deal with the pressures which we inevitably go through in life when they come, so it is helpful to be taught them in calmer times.
David Cassian has been personally practicing mindfulness meditation for over 20 years, and has been teaching it in groups/classes and on a one to one basis for around 15 years. Taking elements of John Kabat Zinn's Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses, Brink & Koster's Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living course, and Neff's psychology of Self Compassion, David Cassian has created this unique form of mindfulness based calm living for everyday life.
These MBCL sessions can be given to small groups or individuals either in person or via Zoom.
